Fred grew up in Seattle and started taking piano lessons at age 7. At 10 he learned the Trumpet and performed in the Elementary School Band.
In Jr. High School, and High School, he added the Trombone, Tuba, Bass Guitar and Guitar. He played Tuba in the Concert Band and Bass in the Jazz Band and Jazz Choir. He even assisted the Music Teacher with beginning and intermediate Guitar classes.
His first year of college, majoring in Music at Shoreline Community College in Seattle, Fred played Tuba and String Bass in the Concert Band and guitar in the Jazz Band. He also supported the Recording Class and Jazz Choir playing back up guitar and bass.
In 2001, Fred designed and built his own brand of guitars “Verd Guitars” which he uses in studio sessions and live when performing with The RockHounds.
